I (heart) my Senior Reps!!

I recently shot 2 of my 2010 Senior Reps. We had a ton of fun and got a lot of really great photos! Have a look!

First is Matt. We had a blast in the studio a couple of weeks ago and then headed outside yesterday for some outdoor shots.

Next is Liz. We did both of her shoots on the same day and both of us ended up getting IN the lake!

I’m still looking for a few more reps, so give me a call if you’re interested!!

It’s official - I’m afraid of heights!

Well, I’d never actually tested myself to see if I was, in fact, afraid of heights. But today, in the name of photography I did just that!

I’d like to thank the awesome people at the Elk’s for being so nice about letting me come in and climb onto their roof! It was a different experience, that’s for sure! I had fun though!

Once I got over the queasy feeling in my stomach, it was actually very pretty up there! Here is the before picture of the street, from above. After the project is done, I’ll go back up and get new pictures!

This is the torn up street in front of 5th 3rd…

On my way back down to street-level I used this really old staircase. The building is over 100 years old and really cool looking on the inside!

So that’s the best from my trip to the rooftop!

Be sure to check out our website at picturecadillac.com to see all the pictures of the construction!

Keep checking back for more!

Foggy morning = lovely scenes!

First off, I must sincerely apologize to the 4-5 people driving along Mackinaw Trail this morning who probably nearly had heart attacks when my minivan jumped out of the fog at them while I was parked getting these photographs. (Nobody gave me the finger, though!)

So that’s why I was late and dewy this morning!

Cadillac Downtown Streetscape Series - 2

It’s raining today, a LOT. So I decided instead of shooting more, I’ll post some more. These ones were taken on the 21st and the crews are getting a huge amount of work done.

They’re pulling all kinds of gross old pipes out of the street down there! But they DO provide unique opportunities for great photos!

This little machine (I say little, as compared to the HUGE ones that have been working on the road) is used to bury electrical lines. The gentleman told me that they’re doing the streetlights. It was interesting to chat with him about all the work we’re having done.

And here’s one of what should be our Cadillac City Flower this year!

Then there’s our Cadillac City Mascot, the Caterpillar!

Here it is, our NEW sidewalk! That’s right, NEW!

This little guy was just fascinated by all the men working so hard. His little eyes were as big as dinner plates and he was completely in awe.

He even got to wear a hard hat and be one of the guys!

But he wasn’t exactly happy with having his picture taken.

Working hard, pouring our curbs. I can’t wait to see what the street looks like when it’s all done!

I had to stop and grab a shot of the water cooler. To me, the way it’s all beat up kind of shows how hard these guys work. They’re out there every day, rain or shine, improving our city!

It is a tiny bit comical though, watching the men on the large equipment. They have that kid in a sandbox look on their faces. I guess when you’re a grown-up you still have to play in the sand sometimes!

On the way back to the store, I saw this guy cleaning up after the mess. Dust was flying everywhere, but when he got done, the street looked great. We’ve just got to hang in there a few more months and our city will be beautiful!

That wraps up last weeks photos. Keep checking back for new additions. Also, check out

Cadillac Downtown Streetscape Series - 1

I know I’m a little late starting, but Kevin had the great idea that I should take a walk down the construction site a couple of times a week and post some images here so that everyone can see the work being done without leaving home! So, here are a few photos from last week. All the people working out there are very nice and don’t even chase me off!

First off, I just couldn’t walk by these tulips without stopping. Could YOU?

Those guys really have to trust the person running the heavy equipment. That job must take a ton of skill.

I love this next shot. Patience is a virtue, Cadillac. It’ll be done soon and we’ll have a much more beautiful city for it!

On the way back to the store the first day I ventured out, I noticed this. I’m not sure why it caught my attention. I hope you like it.

The second day I went out was the 13th. These people work hard and get dirty. What a hard day’s work. Big thanks goes out to all of them!

The next three images demonstrate the level of trust these workers have with their operator. Amazing!

And here’s the guy they’re trusting! All in a day’s work, eh?

That’s all for now. I have some more pictures that I took today that I need to upload, so check back often for more updates! We are also working on a website where you can browse all the photos I take of the construction and order prints. I’ll get that address posted a.s.a.p.

Thanks for looking! And as always, your comments are appreciated!!

Emilie’s Birthday Photo!

I decided recently to have a fun filled Birthday Photo Shoot every year for my daughter. I let her pick 4 outfits, set up the light in her bedroom and we had a BLAST! Here’s her favorite one, complete with her personalized toybox and blankie!

The day after I printed Emilie’s pictures, I was out to lunch and ran into some friends. At that precise moment, I realized I had pictures of Emilie with me, but none of Gunnar. So that weekend I HAD to get some of our boy too! He’s such a lady killer!

So, now my wallet’s full and I can show them off!

One Reason I LOVE Babies!

Babies are amazing! They coo and they laugh and they’re all chubby and wrinkly! But before the cooing and the smiling, when they’re quiet, they’re just so beautiful. It makes me glad that I’m privilaged enough to photograph them at this age. Tiny and gorgeous!

Photo One’s Growing Family

Well, I’m officially back, and after two months, I’m GLAD to be! I was very busy during those 8 weeks, and here’s what I have to show for it…

His name is Gunnar and he’s growing like a weed!

About 5 weeks after Gunnar came, some of my family came to visit and we took some very cute photos of the kids.

Sully and Vinnie

The boys did a GREAT job and got lots of treats for posing pretty!

Then there’s Ellee, my niece…

We laughed…

We cried…

But overall, it was a good day!

Let me know what you think and keep checking back. We’ll be starting photo contests again very soon!!

Indian Summer

What a perfect week it has been. The weather couldn’t be better and I’ve been shooting some adorable kids in the studio!

First we have a couple of cute little girls, in almost matching outfits. We had so much fun! I hope their moms are as excited as I am about the results!

Next comes my  beautiful niece, Maris. She had time for lunch and a diaper change before the session, so she was in a perfect mood! We even got a smile!

And last, but not least is my daughter, Emilie. She was spending a little while with me at work and decided to sit (almost) still for a few frames. I’m glad she’s warming up to the camera again, for awhile she wouldn’t let me take her picture without sticking her tongue out!

And we just HAD to wrangle dad in there for one! These two are my pride and joy!

So, that wraps up this week! Let me know what you think!

I love shooting seniors! We had 2 this week. Expect to see more of Cassie, we’re shooting outdoors this weekend.

Little did I know during either session, these two are dating. They’re a very cute couple! Keep checking back to see more photos. PLUS, we’ll be running a special on Christmas cards soon!
